CAA Baseball has announced the signings of two University of Tennessee baseball players: Chicago White Sox first round pick Garret Crochet, and Minnesota Twins second round selection Alerick Soularie. Crochet is a tall, athletic left handed pitcher who has drawn comparisons to fellow CAA client Josh Hader by many scouts. Soularie is a versatile IF/OF who led the team with a .370 average after transferring into Tennessee from San Jacinto junior college in 2019.
Crochet was named the No. 10 overall draft prospect by MLB.com, and was a 2020 Baseball America First Team All-American selection.
Soularie was a preseason D1baseball.com All-American, and the No.58 overall draft prospect by Baseball America.
CAA baseball represents a slew of elite big league talent such as two-way Angels star Shohei Ohtani, Jacob deGrom, Buster Posey, Bo Bichette, and Noah Syndergaard among many others.
