Dallas Mavericks center Willie Cauley-Stein has joined the Young Money APAA family after signing with Adie Von Gontard. In the 54 games with the Mavericks, Cauley-Stein averaged 7.2 points and 5.8 rebounds per game.
The 7-foot big man who was a 1st round pick for the Sacramento Kings in the 2015 NBA Draft, has the potential to be a solid contributor and still young enough to be a foundational piece for a team. When he was drafted early impressions had Cauley-Stein compared to 2011-12 Defensive Player of the Year Tyson Chandler.
Cauley-Stein opted out of the NBA restart noting that he and his partner are expecting a newborn this month. Cauley-Stein has a $2.29M player option for 2020/21 and the move to join Young Money APAA Sports likely means he will be exploring other avenues outside of picking up that option.
