In what is slowly becoming a weekly tradition, VaynerSports has made yet another announced as the dynamic agency has expanded into the world of Mixed Martial Arts and broader, combat and action sports.
VaynerSports has acquired the clientele of Lloyd Pierson, formerly of Ballengee Group, and Pierson will join the VaynerSports family and run its MMA division.
Pierson brings along with him an impressive client roster including Tony Ferguson, Eddie Alvarez, Vitor Belfort, Colby Covington, Chris Weidman, Urijah Faber and Curtis Blaydes, among others – all fighters that are currently under or have been under UFC contracts.
The acquisition was first announced by ESPN Reporter Ariel Helwani on Twitter this morning.
Said VaynerSports CEO Greg Genske, who joined the agency last week to head its baseball division, “The goal of the new division is to ensure these athletes receive similar fights and benefits enjoyed by other professional athletes…Not only do these men and women take on great risks in the Octagon, they also serve as the lifeblood of an industry that has blossomed into a multi-billion-dollar, revenue-generating machine. The skill and charisma of these young men and women are sure to propel the MMA industry to even greater revenue growth in the future, and our job at VaynerSports is to ensure the athletes share in that growth.”
VaynerSports is a venture that began in 2016 with the representation of professional football players and was founded by Gary Vaynerchuk and his brother AJ, who is the CEO of the organization.
VaynerSports continues to make waves in the sports industry to create what will become a force in athlete representation and an agency model that is sure to break the model of the current structure.
