Legacy Sports Management Rebrands As Anderson Sports and Brand Management

Sydney Anderson, the founder and owner of Anderson Sports and Brand Management has been in the athlete marketing business for almost a year now. A former track & field athlete at Indiana University, Anderson has used her experience as a collegiate athlete to connect with clients throughout the industry.

She previously launched Legacy Sports Management a year ago with the intention of only focusing on sports clients. During the past few months of COVID-19, Anderson has had the time to reevaluate her business model and even got more clients outside of the sports industry. This led Anderson to rebrand her company to not only focus on sports, but also entertainers and other businesses as well.

During the past few months, Anderson has worked with small-business owners such as barbershops and start-up companies and assisted with branding, personal relations, and marketing.

While COVID-19 has changed the landscape of the sports marketing industry with almost all events going virtual, Anderson has learned to adjust.

“We were challenged to get really creative. It was definitely harder to get opportunities [at the beginning of COVID-19], but things have started to pick back up,” Anderson said.

Anderson’s clients also include Cleveland Browns defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi and Washington Mystics’ Alaina Coates. With mostly all events going virtual, Anderson has worked on helping her clients do virtual events and interviews. Anderson has also been doing some interviews and podcasts herself to raise brand awareness.

She has also helped setup track & field camps in December with USA T&F athlete Michael Cherry.

“I definitely had a lot of down time and it’s been difficult since COVID shut everything down. I spent most of my time during the quarantine working on my rebrand and worked on helping my clients do virtual events,” Anderson said. “My goal is to really help athletes, business owners, and entertainers to build sustainable brand and help build their legacy for the future. We’re here to really help. I dedicate a lot of my time to increase my clients brand awareness.”
