Frankie Montas Signs With Roc Nation Sports

Roc Nation Sports has added a new client to its baseball roster: Oakland Athletics pitcher, Frankie Montas. The news comes just as pitchers and catchers have begun reporting to Spring Training for the 2021 MLB season.

The 6’2″, 255 lb, Dominican Republic native signed as a free agent with the Boston Red Sox in 2009. He played at various levels in the Red Sox farm system until 2013 when he was traded to the Chicago White Sox. He made his Major League debut with the White Sox in 2015.

Since his debut in 2015, he has been traded two more times. He was traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers as part of a three-team deal, and later traded to the Oakland Athletics. He began the 2020 season as the A’s Opening Day starter. In January of 2021, Montas signed a one-year $1.8 million deal with the Oakland Athletics.
