Roc Nation Sports Signs Master P

Roc Nation Sports has signed rapper, actor, record producer, entrepreneur and former basketball player, Master P. Master P is pursuing his goals of coaching in the NBA. He has spoken publicly about his desires to lead his hometown team of the New Orleans Pelicans, where he wants to bring in wins for his city and keep Zion Williamson on the team.

Master P is taking the necessary steps to become an NBA Coach by teaming up with Roc Nation Sports Raymond Brothers, who has represented players from the Lonzo Ball, to Caron Butler and Zach Randolph, amongst others. TMZ Sports asked Master P about his agent and he said “He’s a good friend of mine and he knows what he is doing.”

Earlier this month, Master P told TMZ that he wanted the NBA Coaching job with the Pelicans. The team let go of Stan Van Gundy after one season and Master P said that Zion Williamson would love the move. He told TMZ “I think it’s time. They gotta do something different, unique.” Master P is no stranger to the game of basketball. He played preseason basketball with the Charlotte Hornets and the Toronto Raptors in the 1990’s. He previously coached DeMar Derozan at the AAU Level. In 2017, Master P said he was close to joining Alvin Gentry’s staff. He continued to compare his switch from rap mogul to NBA Head Coach to the times of Tim Tebow going from Heisman winner to MLB-hopeful to now a tight end in the NFL.

“You look at Tim Tebow, they brought him to play as a tight end because they looking at times is changing.” Master P told TMZ Sports. “The NBA is entertainment. I think it’s time for me to be the first hip-hop coach.”
