Dontay Demus Jr Signs With The Sports & Entertainment Group For NIL Representation

The Sports & Entertainment Group has signed senior, Dontay Demus Jr from University of Maryland for his name, image, and likeness representation. He will be joining Leddie Brown (West Virginia) who has also signed with The Sports & Entertainment Group for NIL representation.

The 6’3″, 217-pound wide receiver is from Washington DC, where he attended Friendship Collegiate High School. During his high school career, Demus was a consensus 3-star recruit across all major recruiting outlets. He was rated the ninth overall player in Washington DC by 247Sports and ESPN. As a senior, Demus was a Second Team All Metro selection, having 66 catches for 1,167 yards and 12 touchdowns. He helped his team to an 8-4 record and a trip to the DCSAA Class AA Championship Game in 2017.

At University of Maryland, Demus has received the following awards and accolades: Honorable Mention All-Big Ten (2019 and 2020), Athlon Sports Preseason All-Big Ten (2020 and 2021), and Pro Football Focus Preseason All-Big Ten (2021). This past season he started all five games at wide receiver making him one of only six Maryland players to start in all five games. He led Maryland in every receiving category. He ended the season catching a touchdown pass in four-straight games, which was the longest streak in the country.

Demus is the first from his university to publicly sign with a representative for NIL deals. Other student athletes at his school, such as Eric Ayala have signed NIL deals, but have not publicly announced their NIL representation.
