Jimmy Smith is a 6’2, 205lb cornerback from the University of Colorado Boulder. NFLDraftScout.com currently projects him as the 4th best cornerback available in the 2011 NFL Draft and believes that Smith will be taken in either the 1st or 2nd round. The Big 12 coaches voted Smith All-Big 12 First Team based on his 2010 season. He decided to decline his invite to play in the Senior Bowl, but has been training hard for the NFL Scouting Combine. He has also recently decided to make a switch in representation, leaving his agents at All Pro Sports and Entertainment (APSE) in favor of Drew Rosenhaus of Rosenhaus Sports Representation.
Lamont Smith and Peter Schaffer of APSE must be fuming based on the recent news of being dropped for Rosenhaus. Roughly half a year ago, APSE lost Jared Odrick (28th overall pick of the 2010 NFL Draft) of the Miami Dolphins to Rosenhaus. Furthermore, APSE is based in Colorado, where Jimmy Smith went to school, and it is not as if Smith is from South Florida – he is listed as hailing from Colton, California. This one has to really sting.
