I am always surprised when I see that a University of Miami player is not represented by Drew Rosenhaus in the NFL Draft. Was the player not recruited at all by Rosenhaus or did some agent just happen to do something to persuade the player? After all, even if you hate Rosenhaus, the guy is always around the UM facility, has represented numerous former UM players, and is based in South Florida. Thus, I am never surprised when one of those players not represented by Rosenhaus ends up making a switch at any point after the Draft.
Allen Bailey was represented by Terry Watson of Watson Sports Agency for the 2011 NFL Draft. The former UM defensive end was selected by the Kansas City Chiefs in the third round (#86 overall). Bailey’s switch to Drew Rosenhaus leaves Watson with one player selected in the draft: Chris Culliver from South Carolina, who was selected by the San Francisco 49ers, also in the third round (#80 overall). Watson had to know he was entering shark infested waters when he decided to recruit UM players.
