The Offensive Most Valuable Player from last Saturday’s East-West Shrine Game now has the same agent as, yes, New England’s Tom Brady. Eastern Illinois quarterback, Jimmy Garoppolo, recently signed with Yee and Dubin Sports, LLC and will be represented by NFLPA Certified Contract Advisor, Don Yee.
Yee and Dubin represent athletes, coaches, and broadcasters including New Orleans Saints head coach, Sean Payton, and Patriots wide receiver, Julian Edelman.
Garoppolo finished the Shrine Game with 100 yards passing and one touchdown. College football analysts believe that with a strong showing at this weekend’s Senior Bowl and a solid Combine/Pro Day in front of NFL scouts, Garoppolo’s stock could rise even further. The Arlington Heights, Illinois native could even be a second or third round selection come May’s Draft.
“People will compare him to Tony Romo because they went to the same school, but his pro comparison for me is Ryan Tannehill,” said Mike Kaye, Contributor for SBNation.com. “He is an understated athlete that is perfect for the West Coast Offense.”
Garoppolo finished the 2013 campaign with 5,000-plus passing yards and 53 touchdowns, with five games of 400-plus yards through the air. NFLDraftScout.com ranks Garoppolo as the No. 5 best available quarterback for the 2014 Draft while SBNation.com lists him at No. 7.
