Not even Josep Maria Orobitg, the man closest to Pep Guardiola in career matters knows what’s next for the most sought after coach. With his contract set to expire in June with German powerhouse Bayern Munich, much speculation has begun to flood the soccer world over what is next for the 44 year-old.

“Not even do I know what Pep’s intentions are. We have had some intensive talks in recent days, but when it comes to things like these, he is very private,” Orobitg told Tz. “He will decide based entirely on his own impressions. “One thing is certain and that is that everyone around him will accept his decision, whatever it is.”

Since joining the club in 2013 following a successful coaching career in Barcelona, all Guardiola has done is win. His squad has won the last two Bundesliga titles and are heavy favorites to repeat this season, as well as challenge for UEFA’s Champions League Title.

A return to Bayern Munich is the still the most likely outcome but there are believed to be no lack of interested suitors that will demand attention, including English giants Manchester City and Chelsea.

City have been long-term admirers of the Spaniard, and the club’s front office has strong connections with Guardiola through their shared links with Barcelona. Chelsea are believe to be regarding Guardiola as their top target, but may struggle to attract him if they miss out on qualifying for next season’s Champions League, as they continue to struggle this season.

Bayern’s chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge suggested this past weekend that a decision – one way or another – would be made before the Bundesliga’s winter break.
