We’re currently in the middle of bowl season and this time of year brings plenty of player-agent signings from athletes entering the upcoming NFL draft. One such signing was recently announced by David Canter of DEC Management. Syracuse DE, Ron Thompson Jr., has selected DEC Management to represent him for the 2016 NFL Draft.
Ron Thompson is a junior defensive end that garnered third team All-ACC honors after tallying seven sacks in the 2015 season. Thompson also led the ACC with four forced fumbles this year. Thompson, 6’3” and 255 lbs, is looking to become the next great defensive end to come out of Syracuse like Dwight Freeney and Chandler Jones.
Almost a year ago today, I wrote about David Canter signing a pair of Syracuse players (Brandon Reddish and Jarrod West). It seems Canter has begun to build a bit of rapport with the Syracuse players over the last few years. One of Canter’s most notable clients is Chargers safety, Eric Weddle. Canter, based out of my former home of Davie, FL, is a veteran agent that seems to add a few players to his client list each year. I would be surprised if we don’t see at least one more post on SAB regarding a David Canter signing.
