Philadelphia Eagles running back Wendell Smallwood has decided to switch agencies. He is now represented by Wasserman and agent Will Wilson for both on and off the field matters.
The second year back out of West Virginia is expected to be a major contributor in the Eagles back field this season, after adjusting to the NFL as a rookie. He was drafted by the Eagles in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL Draft, and played in 13 games, totaling 312 yards on 77 carries for 1 TD. He also had the NFL’s first kickoff return touchdown of the 2016 season in week 6 against the Redskins. Although his rookie campaign came to an end when he was placed on the injured reserve in December, Smallwood looks to be the featured back for Philadelphia in 2017.
The 5 foot 10, 208 pound Smallwood enters year two of his rookie contract, which expires after the 2019 season. He was previously represented by Verus Sports Management.
Will Wilson is the executive VP of football at Wasserman, and also works within the agency’s soccer division. He currently represents a roster of NFL clients, including Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck, who happens to be his nephew. Wilson has been involved in both “footballs,” coming to Wasserman in 2012 after serving as the executive VP of international business and special events for Major League Soccer and Soccer United Marketing.
