Kyler Murray Picks Erik Burkhardt For Football Representation

Kyler Murray, Heisman Trophy QB and the 9th overall draft pick by the Oakland A’s in the 2018 MLB Draft, announced via Twitter that he has committed to his dream of playing quarterback in the NFL rather than playing baseball.

Early the following morning, Adam Schefter reported that Kyler Murray has chosen Erik Burkhardt as his agent.

Burkhardt is the Co-Head of Select Sports Group based in Houston, Texas. Among Burkhardt’s clients include Arizona Cardinals’ Head Coach Kliff Kingsbury.

In an interview last fall, Kingsbury, former Texas Tech Head Coach, said “Kyler is a freak… I would take him with the first pick of the draft if I could. I know he’s signed up to play baseball, but he is a dominant football player and I would take him with the first pick.”

After many rumors and speculations began circulating on social media about the possibility of Kingsbury and the Cardinals’ drafting Murray first overall in the upcoming NFL Draft, Kliff Kingsburg released a statement saying, “Josh [Rosen] is our guy.” Needless to say, Kingsbury along with the Cardinals’ organization will rely on the 10th overall pick from last year’s draft, Josh Rosen to be their starting quarterback.

Murray will most likely be the first person ever drafted in the first round of both the NFL and the MLB drafts.
