Posting a ridiculous mock draft like this is a waste of everyone’s time.
Tebow in the Top 6?
Trent Williams in the Top 10?
Eric Berry not in the Top 10?
Rolando McClain not in the 1st Round?
Why bother?
CJ Spiller at 21? He will not make it out of the top 15.
I think “ridiculous” is too strong a word. Year in and year out there are players who are projected to be drafted in the first round but are, in fact, taken late in the first or drafted in the second round.
You say “Trent Williams in the Top 10?” like it is impossible. Seeing as I have Russell Okung going at number 5, Trent Williams is the next best possibility at OT for the Raiders. So think about that one first.
I can see your concern for Eric Berry. However, I still believe he will go to the Tennessee Titans. I just do not see a team ahead of them who is in that desperate need of a safety. Besides, perhaps, the Lions.
As for Rolando McClain, I will look to spot him higher in my revision. Nevertheless, I still see the Philadelphia Eagles drafting him. Lee is a great kid and a hard worker and the Eagles need that ethic around them.
Mock drafting is a refining process and it is still very early. Stay tuned for updated versions and thanks for reading!
First of all, you have Locker ahead of Clausen. Clausen is the best QB in this draft class. Second of all, you have Trevard Lindley drafted twice in the 2nd round. Last but not least, you have 3rd selection Alterraun Verner from Alabama. He is from UCLA.
Hmm. OT position is missing out on the #1 pick from four years ago. Who was that J’Marcus Webb! I think he is at West Texas 6″8 and 325 lbs! Big huge dude! Where is he?
I think if McClain is available at 18, Pitt breaks the sound barrier running that pick up to the podium.
So the Cowboys are going to burn a 2nd round pick, to own the rights to Myron Rolle, who will be doing a Rhodes Scholar across the pond?
You know something I don’t ? Haha.
I appreciate you responding to my post calling this mock “ridiculous.” It is very respectable that you respond to criticism in that way.
However, my feelings don’t change even with the explanations.
Trent Williams is not a top notch OT. Watch an OU game closely and you’ll agree.
What is the basis for Berry going to the Titans? Is it the proximity to his college?
If the Eagles are going to get McClain, they better do it in Round 1.
Anway, what about a little friendly wager: if Trent Williams goes in the top 10 and Sam Bradford doesn’t get selected in the first two rounds, I will volunteer 25 hours of time to help this site in any way you see fit. If those things don’t happen, you volunteer 5 hours to charity.
What about Navarro Bowman?
Austin – my source tells me that Rolle is at Oxford right now and will be entering the draft. If drafted, he will be available for the start of the season.
MS – I had a typo in my comment. I still see the Eagles drafting Lee*…sorry about that. Also, have no fear as I will be revising this shortly! About the charity, how about you ask Darren if he’d like you to do some charity and I will do 5 hours whether I win or lose. Bowman is a solid linebacker but something the Eagles do not need right now as an outside LB.
MS – Also, about Eric Berry. Proximity to his college is in no way factored in. Berry will fit in perfectly with the Titans secondary. They are weak in the SS spot and Berry will be perfect.
Thanks for the props for Levi Brown. Anyone who drafts him is going to get an awesome surprise. His numbers are spectacular and I think we’ll all be hearing his name a lot more once the combine starts.
Locker going 2nd overall!!???? LOFL – every indication is he heading back for his senior yr.
Tebow – the 6th overall pick??? LMAO – Despite his success college, he does not run a pro style offense – his arm is marginal at best. Nobody is going to build their entire franchise around Tebow.
Sam Young at 36pk – Have you watched Notre Dame play this year!!?? He is constantly getting beat and cannot run block at all.
Where is Bradford?
Trojan – You’re welcome and I agree. Levi will be a great NFL player.
Bobby – Yes, I see Locker going 2nd overall….if he leaves school. Every indication may point to him staying in school but as of right now he has not made up his mind so he will stay at the number 2 spot. You’re really not giving Tebow enough credit. He has intangibles like none other. Just because he doesn’t run a pro style in Florida it doesn’t mean he can’t adapt the Redskins offense to his own style; especially since the NFL is becoming increasingly non-orthodox with the way plays are called (i.e. wildcat, options).
What the hell is going on with mockers these days, i’ve been saving mocks on my laptop for future views by people who will laugh at it and this is just one of them.
Colt Mccoy as first overall to the browns, really? How is that a better situation for them then having Quinn as the QB? have you actually watched browns games this season, the team is horrible and you pick Colt?!?
Jon Asamoah to 49ers and Berry is still on the board? 3 guards taken in 1st and another small back for houston???? child please!!!
RDZ – Everyone is entitled to their opinion and I appreciate yours.
The reason why I have Colt McCoy going to the Browns at number 1 is because you are talking about a guy who has mediocre weapons at Texas and still manages to win. He has a tendency to make something out of nothing and improvise. That is exactly what the Browns need since they have nothing. I have watched several Browns games this season and I see quarterbacks (Anderson and Quinn) who are in the pocket and look lost. They have no idea where to put the ball and usually take a sack or throw an INT.
As far as the whole Asamoah and Berry situation…stay tuned for the next update to the mock. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

Toby Gerhart not even in your top 64? Why bother….
John – I’m guessing that WalterFootball.com, NFLDraftBlitz.com, DraftHeadquarters.com, MyNFLDraft.com, and FFToolbox.com should just hang it up and take their mocks down because they don’t have Gerhart in the top 64.
The reason that I do not have Gerhart in the top 64 is because an NFL will most likely not draft Gerhart as an every down RB. He will be more of a powerback for goal line rushes, a fullback, or TE. Gerhart is 235 pounds and runs around a 4.5-4.6 forty. The ever-growing trend in the NFL is to get running backs who are around 205-220 and who run a 4.3-4.4. With that said, as of right now there is about one team who is in need of a serious power back.
Thanks for responding.
I don’t understand why an NFL team would not draft him to be an every down back in the NFL…other than that he doesn’t look like a “typical” nfl running back.
Anthony Dixon is bigger and may very well have a slower 40 time than Gerhart, but you have no problem listing him as a first round pick. I think it is time people admit that just as Black athletes were discriminated against playing QB, that white players are frequently shifting away from playing running back. There is no reason why this guy should play fullback on the NFL level, does he even have any notable full-time blocking ability? Why should he be a TE either? With his credentials he deserves a fair shot at runningback in the NFL, he would have this opportunity if he was black, end of sotry.
Let’s please recognize reality here.
Hey look, we can go back and forth all day about discrimination in football but that’s a subject I’d rather not touch.
You are correct in your statement that he deserves a fair shot but the reality of the situation regarding race at different positions is a grim one (as you have said above).
Both backs are equally as impressive so let’s just see how the rest of the season and bowl games pan out. There is still a ton of time until April.
Im going to have to agree with RDZ on this one. Colt isn’t a top round talent. That being said I wouldn’t be surprised to slip somewhere in the last first round. The QB class is very weak this year.
Neither is Tebow. Hes a playmaker because of the system. His “playmaking” abilitys do not translate to quarterback position. The kid said it himself when I interviewed him a few months back. No team in the top 20 is looking at him with a 1st round grade.
And i just KNEW that I would eventually see someone mention race when it comes to Mr.Gerhart. His race has NOTHING to do with where he will be drafted. His big knocks right now are his speed. His explosion coming out of the backfield is what makes him fall down the draft boards. Not race. That makes no sense. People who say that are usually just looking for reasons other than ability to excuse why their favorite players dont do well.
And as for him moving to another position, that won’t happen either. He doesn’t have the bulk of a typical NFL FB and the or the skills to play TE. He’ll be a HB in the NFL, and at the moment he looks like a boom or bust prospect.
best mock draft i have seen
I have nothing witty to say, but huge props on all of the research and time you put into putting this up. Really impressive. Oh, btw, Rosenhaus called me crying this morning saying that he had a nightmare about a guy named Dom putting him off the map.
If Suh is gone when the Lions pick there is no way they aren’t taking Okung. Schwartz is a trenches guy and with the contract Backus has, there is no way he’s coming back to Detroit.
However, if both Suh and Okung are gone I agree Detroit will go with a DB instead of reaching on a DT. My question regards Berry vs. Haden. I know the Lions took Delmas 33rd last year but with that pick and Pettigrew at 20 they showed that they will take talent over need. Berry is more talented (once in a decade) and can play either CB or S. This gives Detroit way more flexibility.
I think it won’t matter because the top three is locked with Clausen (especially when Wise becomes the OC), Locker, and Suh so Detroit will take Okung, but if Okung was gone Berry isn’t getting by Detroit. Remember Schwartz saw him play at Tennessee.
McCoy and Morgan will both go top 15. The fact that they will go after Dixon, Robinson, Lafell, Capers, etc is insane.
From a logic standpoint, if Detroit goes DB round 1 why would they pass on McCoy round 2? There biggest weakness is the front 4. Why would they pass on him or Morgan in round 2 when both are early to mid first talent.
One final thing, Brandon Graham is going to either Dallas, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, or New England in round 1. No way do all 4 pass on a player who will be a better 3-4 OLB then Lamar Woodley. Graham is a better pass rusher, a better run stopper, is faster and bigger, and has better hands then Woodley. Woodley is a dominant OLB for Pittsburgh. Dallas, Baltimore and New England all need a rush OLB. I agree that New England would draft Best over Graham but no way does he fall to the sixties. Worst case he falls to Cleveland at 33, St. Louis at 34, or KC at 37.
Keith –
I agree with your statement about the Lions choosing talent over need. I think that is evident with their love of drafting wide receivers every single year.
I believe it is a toss up as of right now for either Haden or Berry. I like the fact that Berry is a CB/S hybrid but his big frame may lead the Lions to go to a more prototype CB. I think the Lions did a good job of helping their safety situation with Delmas. Three of the Lions’ cornerbacks are 30+ years old (Faggins, Buchanon and Henry). I think the smartest move here is to go with a young, quick cornerback like Haden. However, as we all know, the Lions don’t always make the smartest moves.
I’m interested in your statement about McCoy and Morgan going top 15. How do you figure this? The majority of the teams in the top 15 are going to draft offensive with about three going defensive (CB, LB and Suh). Drafting is all about plugging up the holes in a team, not taking who the next best guy is on paper. As of right now, it is tough to project if Detroit will take a DT or OT in the second round. You don’t know who will get the boot yet.
Rest assured, McCoy is the number 2 DT in my eyes and will most likely be in the first round in my next revision.
Dominic-
You do realize Millen is no longer the Lions GM right? Or could you just not pass up a smart ass remark?
Lions and WRs. Wow you aim high.
Look at the last 5 drafts. Where does the number 2 DT and the number 3 DE go? Do they get passed top 20? You clearly agree with me that Morgan is near top 15 material since you know have him going 17th. You say McCoy is your 2nd DT but he’s behind Jared Odrick, so is he 3rd best now or do the 49ers like to take the can’t miss DT for the so-so DT?
When was the last time a guard was drafter before the 25th pick? Expecting Houston to take Mike Johnson 16th is insane (especially when Mike Johnson will be there early round 2). The Texans have way more problems like a 2nd CB, a FS, a strong side OLB, a NT and a number 2 WR.
Wow I can’t spell. Passed should be past and know should be now. This is what happens when you multitask.
No smart a** remark here. If you’re going to comment, don’t think that everything I reply is a stab at you because I could care less. I was agreeing with you. What you seem to be forgetting here is that every week, something changes in NCAA sports. A new player emerges from the woodwork. It seems like you’re the one throwing up the remarks now doesn’t it?
I beg to differ with your assertion that the Texans need a number 2 WR. Kevin Walter is doing an adequate job. Were the Texans having difficulty with their pass game this season? No. Were they having difficulty with the run? Yes. I rest my case.
When was the last time a kicker was drafted before the 4th-5th round? Oh wait, that was in 2000 when the Raiders chose Sebastian Janikowski 17th overall. Don’t believe for a second that all the teams will go with the most obvious guy because the NFL is not like fantasy football.
The mock draft is OK to speculate and waste some time but could I get someone to agree with me that the Cowboys are not going to win the big one with Tony R. He is good and is winning but surely Jones cannot be that blind or just hopeful that things will go great in the tight games. I would have been all over Vick. Now before you crucify me I am not the one who reinstated him. He gets the job done and is a double threat every time the ball gets snapped. Go easy on me.

After watching the NE Patsies get toasted 2 games in a row you actually have them drafting 3 db’s in the 2nd round. Report for drug teating immediatelly..They will draft dline and olin with all first day picks or make blockbuster trade to move up for a certain player is he falls a few spots. Kraft will have to pay first round pick the money they deserve aan try not to weasle out of first round like they do alot..Pay a first rounder not bargain basement salaries and players again.., No rush bad secondery
based on this mock draft you have no clue what you are talking about.
3 Safties in the First Round?
Jerry Hughes, WIllie Young, Arthur Jones in the 3rd Round?
Pierre-Paul in the 2nd?
Nate Allen in the Top 10?
Eric Berry 1st overall.. There is a man by the name of Ndamukong Suh who will no matter what be the first player taken
If you are going to post a Mock Draft Please Make it Realistic and something that is consistent.
FYI Major Wright is More than Likely Not Coming out this year and Where is Carlos Dunlap? Golden Tate?
The Raiders are going to take 2 safeties in the first two rounds? After the improved play of Branch and drafting Michael Mitchell in the second round last year?
I’m gonna say no.
4 safeties in the first round, 3 in the top 10??? What did you play safety in high school or something?
5 QBs chosen before Colt McCoy? Really?
I am a freshman.i can’t know about this at all.i just heard by TV and other news.So my point is not exhaustive but just my idea.I agree with your statement about the Lions choosing talent over need. I think that is evident with their love of drafting wide receivers every single year.I believe it is a toss up as of right now for either Haden or Berry.I’m interested in your statement about McCoy and Morgan going top 15. How do you figure this?
woow.The SportsAgentBlog.com 2010 NFL Mock Draft.It looks wonderful….
you got haresty to the redskins over gerhart and you dont even have Fresno States Ryan Mathews in the first 3 rounds??? hes rated the #2 Junior back in the class…man, do your homework
Ryan Mathews will be a first round pick after his showing at the combine. kids 6’0 220, and runs a 4.4 40….and he ran for over 1600 yards in about 10 games, thats not including the games he sat out halfs and full quarters
Very interesting analysis. Overall, I think you have been pretty thorough, but I refuse to believe that the Redskins pick up a DE in the 2nd round in the 2010 draft. They spent a a 1st round pick on Orakpo last year and he has already picked up 11 sacks with 3 games left in the season. They also used up their 2010 3rd round pick in 2009 on Jeremy Jarmon who they believe has great potential going into his 2nd season with one year under his belt playing against the redskins 1st team offense, plus he just turned 22 last month. If they take another DE with the 2nd pick they will have effectivly used back to back picks on DE’s when they should be focusing on the offensive line.
Thanks. I agree with your assessment. I am currently working on my revision and have the Redskins with needs at the QB, RB, and OT position. So I am going to key in on those positions next time.
Any mock draft for the Raiders that does not include an OT in the first or 2nd round is an EPIC FAIL. On top of that you have the Raiders drafting two safeties??? We already have Mike Huff, Mike Mitchell and Tyvon Branch (the last two at rock bottom prices). Back to the drawing board for this one.
[…] 2010 NFL Mock Draft srExecute(); […]
I am a Tampa fan & IMO, the Bucs are happy with their young LBs & will not draft one high. Similarly, they will tender OTs Penn & Trueblood, though neither has had a particularly good year. They also have a developmental LT-type on IR in Xavier Fulton. They may take Berry, depending on what they are hearing from Monte Kiffin, with whom there is still a good rapport. Then a DT; they need a corner, & a wideout–or two, & a speed-rusher. Since Sears’ return in 2010 is up in the air, they also need to get a guard from somewhere.
BTW–I agree with MS on Trent Williams–everyone has his going to high; I don’t think he can play LT on a sustained basis at the pro level.
Your 2nd rounder for the Cards makes me think you may need to do a little more research on the Cardinals defense.
First its Dockett, not Dockery.
Second Dockett already has a stud for him to pair with, Calias Campbell has been an absolute stud this year as 1/3 of their front 3 in their 3-4 scheme. Now I like the prospect and its a steal but unless he can play NT or OLB he wont even be a starter, he would just be a rotational / backup player.
Ah, sorry about that! I was thinking of Derrick Dockery (who isn’t even an defensive lineman). I messed up big time on that.
Calais Campbell is undoubtedly a stud so what would you think of this situation: Campbell at NT and Dockett, Griffen on the ends? Campbell is a massive guy at 6’8″, 290 pounds. Griffen is slightly smaller at 6’3″ and around 260-265.
They do use Campbell at NT in some packages. They like his height and length in the middle sometimes whihc makes it hard for QB’s to see the middle of the field or throw it without it getting tipped. But Campbell as their base 3-4 NT just would not work well. Campbells Senior year in college he was asked to be over 300 pounds and play DT becuase of a lot of Miami DT injuries and his play and ability dropped off pretty bad. I dont hink his body adjusted to well to being over 300 pounds which is what he would have to do if he played NT in the base D. Plus , I think it would take away what he does best which is get up field not take on double teams and blockers like the NT in a base 3-4 would be asked to do.
Griffen in a 3-4 DL just isnt big enough or stout to play the position in my opinion. Generally I like to see a little more junk in the trunk in order to anchor the edge like a 3-4 DE would be asked to do. I think his body type and style is closer to your typical 3-4 OLB then he is to 3-4 DE. Griffen may be an option at 3-4 OLB if he can stay at the slimmer and faster 260 pounds. The Cards current starter on the strong side is pushing 260. But I am not sure he would have the needed speed and agility to be a stand up defender?
I like your analysis here. I think Griffen would work well as a strong side linebacker in the Cards’ 3-4 base defense. However I still believe that if needed, Griffen could pack on some more pounds and start at the 3-4 DE position.
Very nice work. Impressive.
Sean Weatherspoon lacks ideal size compared to other linebackers? He’s 6-2 245lbs. How is that not ideal size? That’s bigger than some NFL MLBs. Navorro Bowman is only 6-1 230lbs. So that is a bad excuse. Not that I’m Sean’s biggest fan, but I don’t see him making it out of the first round. And Kam Chancellor to the Eagles? Kam is not a first round talent. He has been exposed a lot this year. I could see the Eagles going with a LB (even though they are not ones to draft LBs this early) or even a LDE to compliment Cole. Reid has never had a problem taking DL with his top picks. Patterson, Bunkley, Laws, Andrews, etc.
I feel Brian Price is a 1st round pick, with a good combine and a great Emerald bowl game against Temple for all of the east-coast scouts out in DC. He earned 1st team ALL-Pac 10 selection as a true sophmore a prestigous accalade that will be duplicated this year. He’s easily the third best Defensive Tackle in this draft class.
Price played vs. Temple in the EagleBank Bowl. After watching the bowl game tonight, Price didn’t make that big of an impact on Temple as many expected. He did have a couple good plays but wasn’t as dominant as usual.
BIG DAN’S DAD-(your projected #49 pick to the Jets), dan williams of tennessee, has been double and triple-teamed (and still got held) by alabama and florida for the last three years as well as the rest of the southeastern conference. this type of respect by the best two teams in the country for this time frame as well as the best conference in the country speaks for itself. he was under the radar because of bad timing by the outgoing coaching staff (they had planned to step up his hyping this year) and the inevitable misuse of time that occurs as the new head coach evaluates the upper class talent that he inherits. the entire tennessee defense performed better in direct correlation to his playing time. note the #3 national ranking in 2008 when he started every game and the highlight film for jarod mayo when he was drafted #5 overall by the pats earlier that year could have very easily been highlight film for big dan. no disrespect to suh or mccoy, but dan was never DOMINATED by a single o-lineman as suh was against texas tech or mccoy was against byu, and heaven forbid if dan had played in the big-12. as for price, it is a lot easier to make all pac-10 when you play for ucla than it is to make all sec when you don’t play for florida or alabama. finally, suh will probably avoid the senior bowl and possibly the combine because he can only LOSE ground to big dan in those two venues! i know i speak with the bias of a father, but i do think i know a little about the game and i anxiously await your post-combine mock draft.

Why would Green Bay draft a running back who basically runs like Ryan Grant? Also, Grants 4 year contract he signed in the off season won’t justify drafting a running back like Gerhart early in the 2nd. Back to back 1000 yard season’s by Grant will make Ted Thompson a little more confident in the position.
I wouldn’t be so quick to say that Gerhart runs like Ryan Grant. Yes, they’re both physical backs but Grant has a lot more quickness out of the backfield. And you are assuming that I believe Gerhart will be taking over the starting job. In no way do I think that is true. Gerhart will be used to add a 1,2 punch to the Packers’ running game.
FYI – Dowling is staying in school, and therefore should be removed from this mock.

How do the Seahawks end up with the pick at #46? As far as I know they only have their scheduled 2nd rounder (which isn’t the #38 pick BTW – I *think* it’s at #40 – I’m sure the 5-11 teams flip-flop through the rounds).
Also, I think Spiller is too high for the #6 pick – as it stands now, I reckon he’ll still be on the board come the ‘hawks second pick at #14. And, if the ‘hawks are looking for their LT of the future, Bulaga isn’t the man IMO. Big & powerful, yes, but not agile enough. Better suited at either RT or LG I reckon. We *need* a bona-fide LT. Davis (Rutgers) maybe?
James –
Good catch. Please bear with me as a lot of these draft positions are being based on coin tosses right now. It’s hard to accurately list the positions.
As far as Spiller, I have the mentality that anything is possible and C.J. Spiller is a talent that could really boost the Seahawks’ offense. Pete Carroll is a fan of highly paced football and Spiller would be a perfect fit for his offense.
No way Oakland drafts Tebow in the 2nd. It’ll be BPA for the OL or DL. And Why does no one know that DT Marvin Austion from UNC is returning to school? And didn’t see RB Ryan Mathews in the first 3 rounds. IMO, the only RB who I think is on the same level as Mathews is Spiller. Then again, I’d rather have the nation’s leading rusher over Spiller…..
[…] 2010 NFL Mock Draft […]
very nice work on this. great comments.
Except for Eric Berry and C.J. Spiller you sound like a fucking idiot.
That’s not very nice now is it?
As a Tampa fan, I don’t much like this. It is too high for Briscoe IMHO, though the team needs a WR (or two). But where is the DT, the biggest need on the roster?? LB & OT are marginal needs; they wouldnt leave Price or Odrick on the board to hit those spots.& they had two FBs on IR almost all year.
Are you comfortable then with receiver situation in Tampa?
Obviously not, which is why I said they need to take one or 2.
Re the latest, I like it in general but don’t think Tampa will take a guard. Looks like Sears is serious about coming back.As you posit things, I’d leap all over D. Thomas (he won’t last this long in reality), or take a RB in the 4th.
A WR for the Steelers in the first, are you kidding me. no 2nd WR on the team, they have Holmes, Ward, and Wallace and Miller at TE. There is no reason why the Steelers would take a 2nd round WR with the 18th pick. Think NT, LB or S.
Bill, you make a very valid point. However, when looking at each position in the draft don’t you think teams look at depth for that particular position? Why go reaching for a top safety, NT, or LB when there could be a solid one available in later rounds. With many teams needing wide receivers this season and the depth for that position being less than stellar, I think the Steelers should see what type of production Tate could give them in the slot.
While I don’t love every pick, I do love the anger and pure hatred that JR brings to the table.
I’m glad that you don’t put your passion towards something more productive, say putting together your own mock draft since you are such an expert
Are you on drugs. The steelers had 2 1000 yard WR this season in Ward and Holmes. Each started and played in all 16 games. They also had Mike Walace start as a rookie and have almost 800 yards.
So you are saying dont reach for a NT LB or S yet you have them reaching for a WR, doesn’t make any sense. and history from the past couple of drafts is on my side seeing how WR don’t usually go in the first round anymore, teams wait until later rounds to get them.
And I also noticed that you have 3 TE going in the first round, that seems highly unlikely.
No, what I’m saying is that TB doesn’t have any “obvious” and glaring needs…..they need help all around. Honestly, their wide receiver situation is not good at all and by drafting Tate in the first round, it gives them security of a very good wide receiver as opposed to drafting one in the 3rd-4th round after taking a NT, LB or S in earlier rounds. There is depth in those three positions so they can afford to use a pick on them later on.
Well, you said:
“The Steelers struggled this year a bit in finding a solid number two receiver (as well as keeping receivers healthy).”
And that is simply wrong when they had Holmes with 1250 yards, Ward with over 1160 and Wallace with 756 yards.
So exactly which ones of those guys isn’t a solid #2 receiver? Which one of those 3 had health problems?
Pittsburgh was the only team in the LEAGUE with two receivers in the top 10 of yardage.
There are exactly 23 teams in the LEAGUE who didn’t have ANY receiver with more yardage.
Now, I wouldn’t mind getting Dez Bryant. But reaching for Golden Tate is a Troy Edwards kind of reach.
And your reasoning, that I quoted, for why they pick Tate was just wrong all over.
Just admit you were wrong.
MIke, I agree with you I don’t know why I said that…my mistake, I’m wrong. But you have to admit, the Steelers were having some trouble earlier in the season trying to find that number 3* receiver.
Only until week 3, when Wallace went over 100 yards and was posting around 50-70 yards a game the rest of the season. And Wallace was 3rd receiver out the gate.
Wallace was a starter much of the year, no more 2TE.
It’s been 3 wide for this team.
So what do you suggest the Steelers do with their pick?
Well, your very next pick is Anthony Davis.
That’s a no-brainer.
I think they would even take Brandon Graham with the way your draft went.
Others would say Earl Thomas, a need position for this team. But I’m not a fan.
Steelers take a WR in the first? LOL No way .

After Warren’s combine performance it is doubtful he goes in round 1 especially to the Vikings and before Brandon Ghee. Looking at the players that are still on the board and what the Vikings need there is no way they should pass on these players (using you draft as a guide) …
1. Dan Williams DT – The Vikings may not resign Jimmy Kennedy and the Williams boys still may end up suspended. And with Pat Williams probably in his last year it does not make sense to pass on a quality DT for a CB who may be pretty good too but with another available later. I saw Jimmy Clausen in the second round but since I don’t see that happening I ignored it. but if he was there then of course he would be the pick.
2. Kyle Calloway OT/OG – The Vikings need a right side guard to replace Herrera eventually if not now, and Calloway is well coached at Iowa and he played guard in the bowl game. Another option here would be John Jerry.
3. Akwasi Owusu-Ansah CB – Here is where the Vikings pick up a decent CB, I saw Devin McCourty available as well but after his combine performance I doubt he is available in the third round. I also expect that the VIkings will take a run at Lito Sheppard if the Jets do release him so CB may get pushed down further.
4. Lamaar Houston DT – The Vikings need to add more than just one DT to the lineup IMO. Plus Houston can also play DE.
[…] 2010 NFL Mock Draft […]
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, this is the funniest Mock Draft I’ve ever seen. I think this is acutally a Mock, Mock Draft. Mocking the whole process.
Have you not listened, read, or talked to NFL people over the last 3 weeks? More importantly, the last 3 days?
You have Patrick Robinson, Kareem Jackson and Devin McCourty all at 83 or below. WHAT??? Not only will all of these guys be 2nd rounders or better, but you have Perrish Cox in front of all 3 at 52.
52 is about right, maybe, for Cox, but AT LEAST 2 of the 3 I mentioned goes ahead of Cox. Cox has off the field issues and not only was a train wreck during interviews at the combine, but his 40 was slower than expected and he looked stiff in drills. I think Jackson and McCourty are neck-and-neck right now, with both having opportunities to break into the first round. You have them as 3rd and 4th rounders, respectively. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
If both of these guys are NOT in the top 50, I will come back here after the draft and declare that you are the Mock Draft King. If they are both in fact in the top 50, then you have to promise to NEVER publish a Mock Draft again. Deal?
John you made me LOL while reading your comment haha. I don’t make deals with strangers so that’s a no. Also, I did talk to some NFL teams in the past week and they told me there was a guy named John Sendu that they wanted to hire as GM right away since his knowledge of the draft “process” is astounding. Should I pass along your info? It’s a really good opportunity so you should do it…
HAHAHAHA, what are you afraid of, that you won’t be able to humor us in the future with your Mock-Mock Drafts?!?!? HAHAHA Come on, take the challenge.
You must have spoken to the Raiders and Redskins. I’d be glad to give either of those GM jobs a shot. A blind-folded monkey (much like myself) couldn’t do a worse job than what they’ve had over the past 10 years. Feel free to pass along my info, hahaha.
Thank you for the comedic banter, but you did not address/refute any of my claims regarding the DB’s in your Mock-Mock Draft. Why? Because you know I’m right, sir!!!
I’ve printed your Mock-Mock Draft and will continue to check back prior to the draft. And if you are correct, I will still come back here and post that you are the MOCK DRAFT KING and will lobby for you to get your own section on ESPN or CBSSports.com. If I am correct, then everyone reading this will know that you should NEVER attempt a mock draft again, unless of course you preface it as a MOCK-MOCK DRAFT.
This is a HORRIBLE mock for the Patriots, you have them taking a WR, RB, S, & CB with their 1st & 2nd round picks. Last yr they took Chung (S) and Butler (CB) in the 2nd round, they need pass rushing help first and foremost. Belichick is really high on those 2 guys and Edleman (WR) & Brandon Tate (WR) who is coming off an injury was a 1st round talent before he got hurt.. I don’t care who you put in the secondary, if you dont have a quality pass rush the receivers will have time to get open! Belichick will rebuild his lines this yr with those picks.. Look for him to pick guys like Graham, Kindle, Carrington, Pouncey, Ducasse, Saffold… If he does take a skill position he’ll go for someone like Dexter McCluster who can line up as a WR or RB
Did the Pats have a reliable run game this year? No. Did the Pats’ receivers light up the board like usual? No. Face it, Welker has a problem with his ACL and Moss’ future is up in the air. Brady needs targets ASAP and if he can’t get them, the Patriots need a running back to lighten the load on him.
I agree with the D-line issue but I was hoping the Pats would secure a DE in free agency.
Love your Steelers picks, but if he were there in the second, Pittsburgh would go for Cody or Cam Thomas.
Having drafted “Iuptai at #18 (which is becomign a “mock” growing consensus),” they need more help at DL than they do at RB.
John Sendu – Haha John, if you think I’m getting upset you’re absolutely wrong! 🙂 … All I’m going to say is that you’re basing your whole opinion of Jackson and McCourty on the combine. If you happen to read any NFL news or talk to any NFL people, you will know that teams don’t weigh the combine highly and an lasting impression will not be made because a player can run a fast 40.
This mock draft is just my opinion. If you don’t like my opinion, you’re certainly able to disagree.
Oh and one other thing, lighten up a little bit on yourself….you’re trying to hard.
[…] 2010 NFL Mock Draft […]
Looking at the Saints’ picks, this draft SUCKS!!!! The Saints are NOT drafting Chad Jones when someone like Jared Odrick is available at a position of NEED. The Saints don’t NEED a safety. I seriously doubt they go TE in the second if Jerry Hughes is available, like you have. Saints will draft defense at first and at positions of need. And please don’t respond about anything with “Sharper is getting old and the Saints might lose him.” We have his replacement probably on the roster already: Either Malcolm Jenkins or Chip Vaughn. Chad Jones is a slow-poke who won’t go in the 1st round.
The Chargers pick at 40 in the 2nd, not 38. At least get the order correct, mmmkay??
Where is Damian Williams?! He is one of the top WRs in this draft! Who represents him as well?
The guy’s from USC. It’s on you for not paying attention since, I don’t know, 2 months ago.
Morgan Burnett went to Georgia Tech not Michigan.
Thanks for pointing that out Ryan.
this is the worst bills mock i have seen all year. yes the bills lost richie incognito, but he was only brought in to fill in for the hurt eric wood, the origanal starting guard. the bills three main needs are dt, ot, and qb. expect the bills to most likely take the best tackle avable in the first round and the best dt avalable in the second round. after that it wouldnt surprise me to see them trade back into the second round to take a qb.
Terrible mock for browns. gave us a de thats to small for a 3-4 and can’t stand as olb. only have 2 starters in dbackfield, need s and cbs. Not te’s and wr’s. the wr theylooking for is pure speed to streach the field. plus looking for right side of o line. signed te watson in free agency
I agree with Eric Berry bein a top 10 pick. But Earl Thomas also? Are you drunk? He isn’t even a top 20 prospect. And yes we all agree that Suh is the best player available, but its obvious the Rams are takin a QB with their pick so why dont you base your picks on facts and not how you feel. Their not takin Colt in the 2nd round, jesus man. Please remove your head from your rear end and please give us another mock draft that actually makes sense.
You may be a tad drunk because if you knew anything about Earl Thomas, you would know that he is regarded as the second best safety prospect behind Eric Berry. His ball instincts are far superior than those of Taylor Mays.
Hey Dominic, where did you go to find out what agency represents the players or how did you find it? Thanks a lot for posting this up, I really enjoy the Mock drafts, and the Let make a deal columm. And as for the person before me, EARL THOMAS IS LEGIT, YOU DONT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT EVALUATING A PLAYERS TALENT IF YOU THINK HES NOT A GOOD SAFETY! CHEERS!
I searched around the internet for the agencies. Glad you like it!
Also dominic what do you think of UCLA linebacker Reggie Carter, and Virgina OL Ed Wang? Furthermore, I disagree with you in projecting jimmy clausen going in the second round to the Bills, though i dont think he”s top ten talent, i dont see him falling out of the first round, i think Seattle would take him 14th overall if he falls out of the top ten.
Keep up the good work, this is awesome.
I haven’t really looked at Carter or Wang so I’m not sure. Clausen could go anywhere. The Seahawks have other problems to address in the first round and the management in Seattle seem to be on the Matt Hasselbeck train. They will take a quarterback but I don’t think it’s in the first round.
Love the Haden pick…and Iupati. However, I don’t believe Singletary views him as his RT, although it’s possible. I see Petrus in the 3rd…but, one way or another, Coach will get his OT. I like the Griffen pick…they need upgrades at both LDE and OLB, he should be able to provide that. I don’t get the LeFevour pick, though. Coach has three QB’s, and wouldn’t want to open the season with Nate Davis and a rookie backing up Alex Smith. That’s why they signed David Carr, so they’d have some experience behind Alex.
Keep an eye on Brandon Ghee. He has been invited to the Green Room even though he has been projected as a 3rd-4th rounder. Some sources are saying he could go as high as the first round although look for either the Texans or Steelers to grab him at the 51st or 52nd spot.
Dominic,
Glad to see that you came around, just before the draft, and put Kareem Jackson and Devin McCourty in the 1st round of your Mock-Mock Draft. After having them both in the 4th round less than a month ago, and then being called out on it by me, you finally realized that they were A LOT better than you had originally thought.
Glad you came around before having to retire from the Mock-mock draft business, hahahaha.
