I made it back from a week trip to Turkey for the Turkish Airlines Open and I am still quite jetlagged. I’m also currently in Costa Rica, where I’m celebrating my bachelor party with 11 of my closest friends. I don’t think I have any more trips planned (other than business) before the end of […]

Darren Heitner created Sports Agent Blog as a New Year's Resolution on December 31, 2005. Originally titled, "I Want To Be A Sports Agent," the website was founded with the intention of causing Heitner to learn more about the profession that he wanted to join, meet reputable individuals in the space and force himself to stay on top of the latest news and trends.
Heitner now runs Heitner Legal, P.L.L.C., which is a law firm with many practice areas, including sports law and contract law. Heitner has represented numerous athletes and sports agents as legal counsel. He has also served as an Adjunct Professor at Indiana University Bloomington from 2011-2014, where he created and taught a course titled, Sport Agency Management, which included subjects ranging from NCAA regulations to athlete agent certification and the rules governing the profession. Heitner serves as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Florida Levin College of Law, where he teaches a Sports Law class that includes case law surrounding athlete agents and the NCAA rules.
Shabbat Shalom from Antalya, Turkey, a place that I am visiting for the third time in my life and despite the current ban on Visas provided between Turkey and the U.S. I am here as a guest of Turkish Airlines, which is hosting its annual Turkish Airlines Open on the European Tour. It is nice to finally conclude what was a horrendous week due to the Las Vegas shootings alone. It affects all of us, whether we know someone who was shot or not. Just terrible to think that someone would be willing to take so many lives and injure so many others who had nothing to […]

The agent community has been buzzing ever since the announcement of the investigation and charges against 10 individuals, […]

The federal criminal charges have been brought against ten people, including four college basketball coaches, managers, financial advisors and representatives of adidas. The press […]
Shana Tova! May you all have a very sweet, successful and satisfying New Year. So far so good on my end. That will especially be the case if Comcast finally gets my Internet and cable working again after a very long time without it thanks to the effects of Hurricane Irma. Comcast says it will […]
