The CBA has officially been extended for another 6 years. The 2006 salary cap should now be $104 million instead of the $94.5 million cap that would have existed had a deal not been struck. This will save a lot of players the anguish of being cut by their respective teams. You had to figure […]
It’s Not The ‘Size’ That Matters
This is absolutely great PR. Grady Sizemore, of the Cleveland Indians, has a huge following of ladies called “Grady’s Ladies.” They have a website: The Grady’s Ladies Sisterhood. In addition, the Cleveland Indians have made a lot of money selling “Mrs. Sizemore” t-shirts and benefitted from a 200% increase in female Indians game viewers last […]
Free Agency in the NFL has ONCE AGAIN been extended right before the deadline was reached (last scheduled for Midnight Sunday). With a 72 hour delay on the start of free agency, it seems as though one of 2 outcomes are plausible. On Wednesday at Midnight, free agency will begin or there will be yet […]
We love our readers. Especially when they make comments on this blog and send e-mails with questions or compliments. Reader, Sokki Chen asks: How would the UAAA be applied to an Olympic athlete who is also a NCAA student athlete. If (s)he wants to hire an agent to negotiate deals for certain appearances prior/after the […]
Deadline for free agency is now midnight Sunday. We may see a new CBA within that time. Why else would the deadline have been extended? The NFL world is upside down right now… [tags]nfl, cba, collective bargaining, free agent[/tags]

Well okay, maybe a soccer player in Romania is worth 33lbs of meat…but that’s all! Nothing more! I found this great story from Darren Rovell’s blog: Trade Bait Everyone is abuzz around Bristol about this soccer player in Romania who was traded for 33 pounds of meat. As a frame of reference: In 1994, a […]
A “Feel Good” Sports Story
If you live under a rock, or just do not watch CBS, you may have missed a great story about an autistic boy who took his school and the rest of the country by surprise this past week. Jason McElwain has been the coach’s assistant on his high school basketball team for a few years, […]
Yes, the Chinese have dubbed 2007 to be The Year of the NFL Agent…you heard it here first. But on a serious note, look out for an uncapped 2007 in the National Football League. Straight from the mouth of NFLPA executive director Gene Upshaw: March 3 will be the beginning of a new league year […]
