While powerful NBA agents are lobbying National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) Executive Director Billy Hunter to decertify the union, team owners are busy plotting their next moves (or lack thereof). Negotiations between players and owners have been, and will continue to be, very slow moving. In the meantime, NBA-related events and opportunities will be cancelled. Eventually it […]
The 6’1, 212 lbs. running back from Arizona State named Ryan Torain is one of those players who was not necessarily expected to be a starter at any point of his professional career. He was drafted in the 5th round of the 2008 NFL Draft (#148 overall) by the Denver Broncos, and surprisingly had a chance […]
There are plenty of articles about the NBA lockout, and perhaps none will be better than the one recently written at Grantland by Bill Simmons. A little over a week ago, though, David Aldridge at NBA.com wrote an in-depth piece about the lockout, which is also a recommended read. Instead of summarizing Aldridge’s lengthy write-up, […]
NFL players, and those drafted by NFL teams who have not yet signed professional contracts, have been locked out by the league since March 3, 2011. Not only have these players not had the ability to speak to team management, they also have had absolutely no access to their teams’ facilities. Whereas players would normally […]
On June 9, 2011, I wrote that New Jersey Nets point guard Deron Williams officially parted ways with agent Bob McLaren. At the time, many people believed that Williams would sign with Leon Rose of Creative Artists Agency (CAA). However, later that day I heard that Williams was also considering Jeff Schwartz of Excel Sports […]
Last week we posted our 2011 NBA Draft Listing Of Players Selected And Their Agents. While the list includes the standard NBA agent names like Arn Tellem, Bill Duffy, Rob Pelinka, Happy Walters, Leon Rose, etc. it also has some lesser known people on it. One of them, Austin Walton, was featured in a recent […]
Other than a couple kids from Kentucky (Josh Harrellson and DeAndre Liggins), the following is a comprehensive list of players selected along with their agents of record. Do not pay too much attention to the teams listed, as a lot will change based on trades. Based on the information that is listed below, BDA Sports, […]
The following is a guest contribution by Brian Heidelberger. Information about Mr. Heidelberger is located at the bottom of this post. The NBA draft is right around the corner and whatever number your player is picked, he’s going to have to pick up not only his game, but also his business skills, unless he wants […]
First, I want to apologize for the delay in blogs and topics. We had a great NBA Pre-Draft Class here at IMG Academies. Doubling business is good, but I guess I forgot about the double work part. The initial set of blogs brought both praise and backlash from varying fields. “Trainer” can have so many […]
Last week, I highlighted a new relationship between two-time Super Bowl MVP Terry Bradshaw and Evolution Management + Marketing. The two signed an agreement that made Evolution the exclusive marketing agency for Bradshaw. Evolution has not stopped signing up new, talented clients. The company also just signed future 2011 NBA Draft pick Enes Kanter to an […]
