Octagon Basketball Adds Agent Daniel Moldovan

Prominent basketball agent, Daniel Moldovan, joins Octagon Baseketball as Vice President and Player Agent. Moldovan will bring with him his list of clients formerly represented by his Australian basketball agency Lighthouse Sports Management. The high-profile client list includes Toronto Raptors Center Aron Baynes and NBA veterans Jonah Bolden and Isaac Humphries. Also included on the list are some promising prospects such as Mojave King and Josh Giddey. Moldovan’s blend of more than two decades representing top basketball talent and his exceptional client list offers a treasured asset to Octagon’s team.

Moldovan will be reporting to Octagon Basketball Co-Managing Directors Jeff Austin and Alex Saratsis, who recognize what their new team member brings to the table. Per Saratsis, “Daniel is a brilliant agent and leader. He has played a pivotal role on the international basketball circuit for years and helped grow the game and its surging popularity across Australia. As Octagon Basketball continues to expand its industry-leading presence internationally, adding Daniel and his group of exceptional players to our Octagon family will only strengthen our grasp on the international game and help extend our reach around the globe.”

Moldovan reciprocates the excitement of joining forces with Octagon. He added, “I’m thrilled to join Octagon’s industry-leading basketball division and work alongside some of the best in the business in Jeff and Alex, and the entire Octagon team. With the addition of our impressive international roster and strong foothold in Australia, I am confident we will continue to grow the Octagon Basketball brand, expand our footprint globally, and enhance the breadth of services we provide to our All-Star roster of clients.”

Before joining Octagon, Moldovan served as the Sport Director of the Hong Kong Football Club and worked in the league office of the NBA. His subsequent career step was serving as Vice President of Entersport, where he gained 15 years of experience in representing players in the NBA and other leagues in their on-court contracts and marketing deals. Moldovan then founded his own agency: Lighthouse Sports Management. Daniel’s background in international experience will come as a distinguished contribution to Octagon.

Octagon already has a well-established presence in the basketball representation sector. Over the last 30 years, they have accumulated some of the sport’s biggest names, including several NBA and WNBA MVP award winners. Some of those names highlighting the list are Giannis Antetokounmpo, A’ja Wilson, Elena Delle Donne, Stephen Cury, David Robinson, and Moses Malone. Octagon’s basketball division currently manages more than $1 billion in active player contracts. With an existing storied history in Australia, the addition of Daniel Moldavon substantially magnifies Octagon’s dominance in that region.
