It was announced today at WME/IMG has purchased golf representation firm Icon Sports. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed. The company will be folded into IMG Golf’s existing operations, with Icon Sports’ personnel given new roles in the company.

R.J. Nemer, the founder and president of Icon, will become the head of IMG Golf America. Clarke Jones, who previously held that position, will head up IMG Golf Consulting. They both will report to the Guy Kinnings, who is the global head of IMG Golf.

Icon Sports represented 27 golfers, including 15 on the PGA Tour. Most notably the firm managed Henrik Stenson and Ian Poulter, who both ranked 18th and 38th on Golf Digest‘s Top 50 earners of 2014 respectively. Henrik is also the current holder of the Race To Dubai Tour Championship on the European Tour.

The company also operates in the business of marketing, event management and corporate hospitality. They won’t have far to move operations – Icon Sports’ offices are located approximately 30 miles from IMG’s worldwide headquarters in Cleveland.

The acquisition further strengthens IMG Golf’s position as the leading company in golf representation. Across various tours, IMG Golf’s stable includes Ernie Els, Michelle Wie and the recently signed Patrick Reed.
