Consensus first-team All-American and ACC Player of the Year center Jahlil Okafor will sign with power agent Bill Duffy of BDA Sports Management a source tells Sports Agent Blog’s Darren Heitner. Jahlil Okafor is a 6’11” center who spent his freshman season playing for Mike Krzyzewski at Duke University, winning the 2015 NCAA Men’s Division I Basketball Tournament.

In his one and only season at Duke, Okafor earned several awards and accolades in addition to ACC Player of the Year and first-team All-American, including United States Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) National Freshman of the Year, Pete Newell Big Man Award, runner-up for the John R. Wooden Award, first team All-ACC, and first team All-ACC Freshman. Okafor was the first freshman to win ACC Player of the Year. Before arriving at Duke, Okafor was named Illinois Mr. Basketball, MVP of the McDonald’s All-American Game, co-MVP of the Jordan Brand Classic, and Parade and USA Today National Player of the Year.

In addition to the many honors, Okafor averaged 17.3 points per game, 8.5 rebounds per game, and 1.4 blocks per game, leading Duke in all three categories. It is no secret then why Okafor is projected as a top two pick in the upcoming NBA Draft this summer and currently ranked as Chad Ford’s 2nd best available prospect, according to ESPN NBA Draft and Chad Ford’s Big Board.

Bill Duffy is a Certified NBPA Agent who currently has 33 NBA players, according to HoopsHype. Duffy’s current clients include Klay Thompson, Joakim Noah, Rajon Rondo, Mike Conley, Danny Green, and 2014 number one pick Andrew Wiggins. BDA Sports Management could not be reached for comment, and Okafor has not made any statement on his Twitter page.
