Roc Nation Sports recently announced the signing of Caris LeVert for the upcoming 2016 NBA Draft. The senior from the University of Michigan joins Kevin Durant, Skylar Diggins, Justise Winslow, Willie Cauley-Stein, Wilson Chandler, and James Young as basketball players signed with Roc Nation.
Caris LeVert is a 6’7 combo guard that had an up and down career at Michigan. While he saw limited playing time as a freshman, LeVert logged 8 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists in Michigan’s 2013 Final Four win against Syracuse. After a much improved sophomore season, many dubbed LeVert as the next superstar at Michigan.
Unfortunately, injuries sidelined LeVert for over half of the games during his junior and senior seasons. While these injuries are concerning for NBA teams, LeVert is still projected to be drafted in the early 2nd round. LeVert has great size for a combo guard and shot 40% from the three point line during his career at Michigan. The pre-draft physical evaluations will be crucial for LeVert as teams will have to decide if he is worth a draft pick given his injury history.
