Share The Good: Albert Wilson

Nine times out of ten, the news surrounding professional athletes involve either a huge contract deal or a run in with the law. The Sports Agent Blog Share the Good series will feature professional athletes and their philanthropic work. University of Miami professor Windy Dees has started using the hashtag (#SharetheGood) on Twitter when sharing news about athlete’s community involvement because it is often overlooked.

Our first feature is on Pro Bowl wide receiver, Albert Wilson of the Miami Dolphins. The Fort Pierce, Fl native has a passion for youth foster care, this passion stems from his journey in the foster care system growing up. Wilson spent time at the Hibiscus Center in Vero Beach, Florida and a Boys Town in Oviedo, Florida before finding stability in the 10th grade with the Bailey family in Port St. Lucie, Fl. Wilson detailed his experience being a Foster Kid In The NFL for Players’ Tribune in 2016.

The Albert Wilson Foundation (AWF) was founded in 2016 and hosts free youth skills camps, family carnivals, book drives, holiday giveaways, and will soon award scholarships to students in the foster care system who have beat the odds and overcome their circumstances and want to further their education.

Most recently AWF hosted its 5th annual Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway Event in Fort Pierce and helped MOD Pizza open its Pembroke Pines, Fl location where 100% of Pizza Sales were donated to the Albert Wilson Foundation.

In the upcoming weeks, Wilson and his teammates will be hosts at Angelo Elia Pizza, Bar & Tapas in Coral Springs, Fl for Dine for a Cause which will serve as a fundraiser for AWF. AWF  is also partnering with Jazwares to deliver over 300 toys to youth in foster care right before Christmas.

Wilson is represented by Rosenhaus Sports and his business/foundation team includes: Jamaal May- Business Manager/AWF Director; Tyrell Wallace (Founder of Wallace Visuals)- Photographer/Marketing; and Nate Minor- Marketing.
