Justin Fields Signs With Athletes First

Athletes First has signed former Ohio State University quarterback Justin Fields. He will be represented by NFL agent David Mulugheta for on-the-field and off-the-field representation. His off-the-field representation will be primarily handled by Athletes First, but will be supported by Rubicon. Fields joins Athletes First and Mulugheta’s expansive client roster.

The 6’3”, 228-pound, quarterback from Kennesaw, Georgia originally attended the University of Georgia where he played in 12 of 14 games as a true freshman and was named to the coach’s freshman All-SEC Team. He completed 27 of 39 passes for 328 yards and four touchdowns.

After entering the transfer portal after his freshman campaign, Fields enrolled at Ohio State in January 2019. He had one of the greatest statistical seasons in the history of Ohio State football as a first-year starter in 2019 when he completed 67.2 percent of his passes for 3,273 yards while accounting for 51 touchdowns. He became the first quarterback in Big Ten history with 40 passing touchdowns and 10 rushing touchdowns in the same season, and the third Ohio State quarterback in the last 50 years to win each of his first 13 games as the Buckeye’s starting quarterback. After his first season in scarlet and gray, Fields was a Heisman Trophy finalist, Big Ten Graham-George Offensive Player of the Year, Davey O’Brien Award Finalist, and First Team All-Big Ten.

The former Ohio State quarterback is forgoing his senior year and is viewed as one of the top prospects in the 2021 NFL draft. He is expected to be the second passer picked behind Trevor Lawrence. Fields led Ohio State to the 2021 College Football Playoff Championship game after throwing for a career-high of 385 yards and six touchdowns in the Sugar Bowl against Lawrence’s Clemson Tigers.
