Dan Leatherman Is Excited To Return To The Nationals

It is official: Dan Leatherman will remain in the Washington Nationals organization.  The Washington Nationals knew what kind of player they had on their hands and Dynasty understood just how great of a situation it is for Dan to remain with the club.  Both sides are happy with the agreement and myself and Frank Zaino believe that the Nationals handled all negotiations very professionally at all times.  We are definitely excited to see Dan grow in the organization over at least the next two-years (the term of his contract), and hopefully many more years down the road.  One thing is certain: The Washington Nationals could desperately use some solid relievers in its bullpen.  Here is to hoping that Dan is on the fast track up to the pros.

Leatherman will start next season where he ended last’s, with the High A Potomac Nationals.  He was an instrumental part of the team’s post-season success last year.  If you don’t remember, he pitched four innings of no run, no walk, 2 hit baseball in his first game with the P-Nats, earning the win in a pivotal playoff game.  This was after an outstanding year with the Class A Hagerstown Suns, where Dan was 1-2 with a 2.68 ERA and 5 saves in 26 games.

Dan just received his Championship Ring for leading the Potomac Nationals to its first title since 1989.  We hope that he continues to bring championships to the organization at higher levels!  Dan is an individual who not only performs well on the field, but takes care of his family and loves his hometown.
